Matteo Prezioso is a freelance, Italian-born photographer; we was born in Ferrara and raised in Perugia.
He currently lives in Colombia, Bogotá, where he works primarily on fashion, editorial, moda, portraiture, still set photography, and photo-journalism.
He took its first steps in the photography scene in Italy, but it is in Pasadena, Los Angeles (USA) where he deepened his studies, especially in black and white analog (35mm and medium format).
He lived in L.A. for five years and it is there, almost by accident, that started working as cinematographer on several independent movie productions; this is a decisive moment for its artistic and professional development.
He kept on working in the film business in his new adopted city, London as camera operator and editor on a moltitud of film and television projects.
His clients, to name but a few: the National Geographic, Independent Runnings, movie directors Rishi Opel and Simon Aitken.
However fascinated by this medium, he decides to leave the movie camera to fully devote himself fully to the \'still\' camera, i.e. photography.
He was called on board as still photographer on a production with actor Tom Hardy, and never looked back from that day on.
So here it began a new phase, which lead him to explore a multitude of styles such as portraits, fashion, editorial, documentary and conceptual.
Matteo Prezioso prefer to work outdoors, where it interacts with elements of classic studio photography (artificial light controlled situations), allowing him to create unique images, combining the two styles that too often - it feels - become sterile by the total lack of dialogue.
Therefore, he prefers a natural environment, but feels completely at ease working in studio. Although deeply fond of analog photography, he has fully embraced the digital format.
He has worked mainly in Europe (England, Belgium, Greece, Italy), and the Americas (USA, Colombia, Ecuador).
He has exhibited his works in Italy and Colombia, and has recently won a photo competition organized by the Ferrarese Librarian Polo (Italy).
